PUB - Launch of Changi Water Reclamation Plant

 Date: 23rd June 2009

Venue:Changi Water Reclamation Plant,

Synopsis:
The completion of the Changi Water Reclamation Plant (CWRP) has pushed Singapore’s plans for self-sustainability up a notch in terms of development. The official opening will serve as a gathering of guests, which include international delegates from the Singapore International Water Week, as well as the various attendees from local governmental offices and corporations. In addition to commemorating the opening with a dinner, the event will also serve as a platform to showcase the plant’s working capabilities to the attendees by way of a tour. Tricom was tasked to undertake a total build-up of the event space right outside the plant premises.

As part of a structured process, the plant tour was aimed at providing an interactive look into the process of water-renewal technologies that CWRP offers, with participants taken on a step-by-step experiential delve at the various integral points of the renewal process. The other facet of the event, the dinner, features static displays and showcases that offer an accessible look at the plant’s development and planning stages. Also featured are displays which highlight contributive efforts by differing corporate contractors for the culmination of the plant.
As part of the programme, an unveiling ceremony of the official plant plaque was held, alongside an official speech by Prime Minister Lee HsienLoong. Further complimenting the overall programme were ‘live’ musical performances and the service of exquisite food and beverage, which, when set against the overall backdrop of the plant and the setting Changi sun, provided a picturesque backdrop for all present.

All in all, the event was a huge success, as it not only fulfilled the goals in which CWRP has targeted, namely, announcing its launch with a bang and providing informative education about the water renewal process and highlighting the importance of water sustainability. It also showcased the feasibility of incorporating a ballroom-like feel event against the industrial scenery of the plant. Tricom Events is proud to have been an integral part of this event, which was given tremendous coverage by both the local and international media.
